CLOSING THE GENDER PAY GAP: Dealing with the complexity of closing the gender pay gap

Helping women to reach their full potential isn’t only the right thing to do, it makes good economic sense and is good for British business. I am proud that the UK is championing gender equality and now those employers that are leading the way will clearly stand out.” Minister for Women & Equalities, Justine Greening, April 2017

One-day masterclass aims:

While the new gender pay gap reporting requirements will help to expose the discrepancies between what men and women earn, it is important not to think that the task ends there.

Using outcomes from evidence-based practice in the fields of Psychology, gender diversity and leadership, this masterclass will help delegates:

  • Understand the complex barriers and challenges to reducing the gender pay gap

  • Explore strategies to close the gender pay gap and create gender balance at work.

Who's it for?

Male and female senior leaders, HR Directors, Equality and Diversity leads, OD and Learning and Development Directors, from public and private sector organisations. Also those responsible for creating gender balance within their organisation, together with existing The Glass Lift Members.

Participants will:

  • Explore strategies for reducing your gender pay gap.
  • Be informed and inspired to lead the change required to create better gender balance.
  • Share best practice and knowledge with other influential people and change agents who are committed to increasing gender equality at work.

Masterclass content will include:

  • Why is there a gender pay gap?
  • Engaging senior leaders in the gender agenda.
  • Developing a strategic approach to reduce your gender pay gap and create greater gender balance.
  • Action planning and preparation for a follow-up consultation.

Follow up two-hour consultation included:

As part of this masterclass delegates will have the opportunity to book a follow-up session of up to two hours with members of The Glass Lift team, who will support you in the development of your strategic approach to closing the gender pay gap. This session may be held at your office up to three months after the workshop date and can involve other members of your organisation.
